EXPLORE THE COURSES

Unreal Engine is one of the most powerful creative tools of our time. Too often, it is taught like engineering. We teach it like art.

These training is designed for artists, animators, performers, and creative teams who want to become fluent in real-time production without losing their creative voice .

You will learn how to create digital characters, craft animation, design motion graphics, work with motion capture, and build cinematic stories inside Unreal Engine —all through a practical, artist-led approach.

Explore the courses below, register your interest, or schedule a call. We will help you choose the right starting point for your goals and experience.

The Trainings

Five courses. One artist-first path through Unreal Engine.

The five trainings are designed as a progressive path, with each course building the artistic and technical foundation for what comes next.

We begin with Animation Studio, where you learn Unreal Engine’s core animation tools and develop confidence with timing, keyframes, curves, motion, and Sequencer—before adding the complexity of characters.

Next, Character Creation focuses on designing the look, personality, and visual language of the characters you want to bring to life.

From there, you can move into either Character Animation or Performance Capture, depending on your interests and workflow. Character Animation develops your ability to craft movement directly, while Performance Capture explores how body and facial performance can drive a digital character. These two areas complement each other and can be taken in either order.

Finally, Cinematics brings everything together. Characters, animation, performance, cameras, lighting, environments, editing, and emerging AI-assisted workflows become part of one complete real-time storytelling pipeline.

The recommended path is intentional but flexible: learn the tools, create the character, explore animation and performance, then bring everything together through cinematic storytelling.

Animation Studio - Unreal Engine 5.8

Master the craft and tools of animation inside a real-time engine.

Starting Date: October 1st, 2026

This course combines animation craft with Unreal Engine 5.8’s expanding animation toolkit across hand-drawn 2D, Motion Design, and 3D Animation Modes. It is the foundational course where we explore the full range of animation tools available in Unreal Engine. The courses that follow assume you are already comfortable animating inside the engine.

You’ll learn how to choose and combine these tools to create movement with intention and craft rather than relying on default settings.

New to animation? Start here. Build a strong foundation in timing, spacing, rhythm, composition, keyframes, curves, and the principles that make animation work.

Already an animator, illustrator, motion designer, or experienced Maya, Blender, After Effects, Cinema 4D? This course is also for you. Bring the craft you already have, translate it into Unreal Engine, explore modes outside your usual practice, and challenge the work at your own level.

Animation Studio is recommended before Character Animation, so you can first become fluent in Unreal’s animation tools and then focus on the added complexity of character rigs, locomotion, facial animation, and performance.

You leave with: stronger animation craft, confidence animating inside Unreal Engine, and a broader toolkit for bringing illustrated, graphic, and 3D ideas to life.

For: animators, graphic designers, content creators, Unreal artists, visual artists, content creators, and creative teams working across animation, design, and real-time media.

Character Creation and Customization in Unreal Engine

Create digital characters with presence, personality, and a world of their own.

Starting Date: TBA

A digital character is more than a technical asset. Every choice—from facial features and materials to hair, clothing, and movement—shapes who appears on screen.

In this training, you will learn how to design, customize, and prepare digital characters using Unreal Engine’s style-agnostic MetaHuman workflows—whether your creative direction is realistic, stylized, or cartoon-inspired. You will develop skills in character customization, grooming, skin and material creation, garment design and fitting, and real-time cloth simulation—then prepare the complete character for animation and cinematic production.

Character creation can be a form of artistic freedom. It allows performers, designers, and storytellers to move beyond physical, age, costume, and casting limitations—and author characters that could not exist anywhere else.

You leave with: a finished, clothed digital character, a working cloth-simulation setup, and a repeatable workflow for creating characters ready for animation.

For: artists, character designers, fashion creative, performers, animators, and teams who want to build expressive digital characters inside Unreal Engine.

Character animation in Unreal Engine

Give your digital characters weight, timing, intention, and emotional life.

Starting Date: TBA

Animation transforms motion into expression.  In this training, you will learn character animation workflows inside Unreal Engine, including  Control Rig, keyframe animation, motion-capture integration, retargeting, and movement refinement.

You will develop the ability to shape a performance through pose, timing, gesture, energy, breath, silhouette, and emotional clarity. Whether you begin with keyframes or captured movement, the goal is the same: to preserve the artist’s intention and create animation that feels authored rather than automated.

You leave with: the skills to animate a digital character from the first pose to a polished performance, along with a repeatable workflow for future projects.

For: animators, performers, and creators who want to bring expressive digital characters to life.

WHO THIS IS FOR

These trainings are for creators who believe movement is expressive, intentional, and meaningful.

These trainings are designed for artists, animators, performers, designers, filmmakers, educators, and creative teams who want to use Unreal Engine for visual storytelling and real-time production.

No coding or game-development experience is required. You will learn the technology through artistic practice, building technical confidence while developing your visual language, movement, storytelling, and creative voice.

If you believe the artist leads and the technology follows, you are in the right place.

Why MB3

Most training pipelines treat the artist as a user. MB3 treats the artist as the author.

MB3 is a movement-led studio, not a software tutorial channel. Our trainings come directly from production: crafted choreographed motion capture, digital characters, virtual production, ICVFX, and animation for film, live events, and interactive work. What we teach is what we use.

We teach technically and speak humanly.

You get precise, production-grade workflows explained in an artist’s language, with room for questions, mistakes, and your own creative voice.

Captured movement is not just data.

Performance and animation are not separate stages. They are complementary arts—one creates the impulse, the other shapes it into a lasting expression.

Digital characters are not human replacements.

They are manifestations of artistic imagination, expanding how artists can perform, transform, and tell stories.

You will learn the tools and keep your artistry.

Unreal Engine is both our production pillar and our training pillar.

Everything you learn is the same real-time craft we use on real projects.

About the Instructors

Marcela Bragagnolo · Founder, MB3 Creative Studio

Marcela Bragagnolo is an Unreal Engine Authorized Training Partner with Gold status and a graduate of Epic Games’ Animation and Rigging Fellowships.

She is a professional animator, former dancer, educator, and virtual production artist whose work bridges physical performance and digital production.

Her journey from the performing arts into animation, motion capture, digital characters, motion design, and Unreal Engine shapes the way she teaches. She understands movement from inside the body—its weight, rhythm, intention, and emotional presence—and knows how to carry those qualities into a digital workflow.

Marcela has worked across animation, virtual production, ICVFX, motion design, and performance-based real-time production. She has also trained artists, performers, university programs, and creative teams, helping them approach complex technology through a clear, practical, and artist-centered process.

Her teaching is grounded in a simple principle: technical fluency should never come at the expense of artistic identity. Students learn professional Unreal Engine workflows while strengthening the movement, storytelling, and visual language that make their work their own.

Marcela leads the MB3 training program, with selected courses also taught by guest instructors whose expertise complements each subject. Guest faculty will be announced as courses are confirmed.

We do not teach artists to follow the technology. We teach them to direct it.
